What is required of me as a CNS EDGE participant?
To join the CNS EDGE program, students must join the program canvas course, complete a quick orientation module, and our pre-program survey. As you complete your experiences, you will submit details about your experiences and an experience reflection for each skill assignment. You will receive a “grade” for the assignment whether your submission has been approved or not.
How many Advanced Experiential learning opportunities can I submit?
There is no limit — please submit as many Advanced Experiences as you are currently participating in. At least 1 Advanced Experience must be in included in your 8 total experiences are needed to complete the program.
Can I use an Advanced Experience from the past or can I only submit experiences I’m currently completing?
The Advanced Experiences can be in the past while your where enrolled at UT, but before you enrolled in the CNS EDGE Program.
Can I submit Mini Experiences from before I was enrolled in the program?
No, all Mini Experiences must be completed after enrolling in the CNS EDGE Program. Reflections on Mini Experiences must be submitted during the same semester as the mini experience itself.
Is there a deadline for submitting my CNS EDGE reflections and program requirements?
To receive CNS EDGE graduation cords and be officially recognized at graduation, students must complete all submissions and program requirements by the deadline of April 15 (spring semester) or December 1 (fall semester).
How are CNS EDGE students recognized?
Students who complete the CNS EDGE requirements before their end of their final semester will receive multi-colored cords for graduation and be recognized in the CNS Graduation Ceremony.
When will I get my CNS EDGE graduation cords?
Students who complete the CNS EDGE requirements can pick up their cord during the semester they are graduating at the Office of Experiential Learning in PAI 5.60.
How do I submit my experiences and reflections?
The details of your experiences and reflection essays can be submitted via the relevant assignments in the CNS EDGE Program Canvas Course.
How can I find out if an experience I'm undertaking is eligible for CNS EDGE Program credit?
A list of recommended experiences could count for the CNS EDGE Program may be found in the Canvas course for the program. You may also undertake experiences that are not on the recommended list as long as you can connect the experience to the skill in your reflection. If you are unsure about a particular experience, please email us at cns.exl@austin.utexas.edu.
Can advanced experiences count as more than 1 mini experience?
No, students must do 8 experiences to complete the program.
